Transformers Armada

Millions of years ago, Cybertron was split into three factions: The noble Autobots, the power-hungry Decepticons, and the netural Minicons, capable of upgrading any machination. Harnessing the powers of the Minicons, the war was so heated that something had to be done. The Minicons left the factions on a space ship, not wanting to be used anymore. Slamming into the moon, with all the Minicons landing on Earth, the war continued without them.

Flash forwawrd to present day California. Two kids awaken one of the Minicons, sending a signal back to Cybertron, reviving the age old despute, now the war has arrived on Earth.

Transformers: Armada Aired in August 30th 2003 AT 6:30pm, and was supposed to be the revival of the hugely fan-favorite '80s series. Unfortunetly the series, for the most part, was not well recieved. Many claim that it was too toyetic and simple, as well as several complaints about the human kids in the show. Since its rotation off the Toonami block, Transformers: Armada could be found on and off Cartoon Network's Saturday block SVES, along side He-Man which debuted about the same time; until both disappeared indefinetly.

.: Characters

Optimus Prime: The leader of the Autobots, this semitruck/giant robot is a little too noble, never resorting to destroying a Decepticon. His Mini-Con is Sparkplug. He can powerlink with Jetfire to form Jetconvoy.

Megatron: Decepticon despot, this tank is out to control the Minicons and all of the world. He can powerlink with Tidalwave to form a Battle-Armor-type mode.

Unicron: This planet-eating Transformer has no allegiance; he is his own faction, working against both Autobot and Decepticon. He is currently a mystery, with Sideways his only known ally.

Rad/Carlos/Alexis/Billy/Fred: The infamous "dang kids" of Armada. Rad is the main one with the ability to talk to Minicons. Carlos is the fun-loving guy. Alexis is the impatient girl. Billy and Fred are the "Bulk and Skull" of the series, rivals who eventually become friends. Seriously, there's not that much to their personalities or backstory.

Hot Shot: The, well, hot shot of the group, Hot Shot is the brash and young member of the Autobots. He originally weilded the Star Sabre before losing it.

Red Alert: The "Spock" of the series, he doesn't engage in fun like Hot Shot. Originally fighting alongside Optimus and Hot Shot, he now serves as a mechanic and advisor, staying behind with the kids.

Smokescreen: He was supposed to go with the original three to Earth, but showed up too late. This construction vehicle was killed by Megatron when protecting the Star Sabre team, but reemerged with his spark in a new form.

Sideways: This Autobot-Turned-Decepticon-Turned-Unicron Lackey has betrayed both factions, apparently working for a higher power.

Starscream: The reckless, betraying Decepticon is only interested in himself. Created as a Decepticon, he served under Megatron until realizing his best chance at power would be working with the Autobots to take down Megatron. After failing at that, he teamed up with Sideways for unknown reasons.

Scavenger: When he showed up, he was working for the Decepticons. Later, he proved to just be a double agent, really siding with the Autobots. He trained Prime in the art of war, but defers command to him.

.:Misc.

  • Despite the Minicons not speaking English in the cartoon, in the comics they are very vocal.

  • There's been some confusion on it's country of origin. As far as we know, both America and Japan worked together on it, but it was produced in Japan, dubbed into Japanese first, and yet released in America first.

  • In Japan, it's known as Transformers: The Micron Legend
