Clyde 50

When Toonami was launched in 1997, a satellite unit named Clyde49 was sent by Moltar to transmit images throughout the universe. An upgrade model to the Clyde49 came in 2000 with the introduction of Clyde 50s.

Unlike the original model, which had full artificial intelligence capabilites, the first Clyde 50s have only partial AI, and used mainly for custodial duties and, on rare occasions, surveilence chores. Designed by TOM and controlled by SARA, these Clydes are cannon fodder and fun to watch stumble around the ship.

The Clydes were introduced on September 18, 2000 during the Intruder event. When the initial damage was discovered, TOM immediately launched the Clydes to investigate. The Clydes proved to be invaluable in hand-to-hand combat. So, TOM and Sara decided to create the DOKs, a more combat-ready robot unit. The Clydes remain to this day, in a diffrent form of course. When Toonami updated the look of the block in March of 2003 the Clydes got a totally new look, though it seems they only are around as a travelling sidekick of sorts rather then functioning mechanics now.
