Megas XLR

In the last hope of saving man kind, a group of humans steal one of the Glorfta's newest and most advanced technological achivements, a mobile suit named Megas. The plan, to send Megas back in time to stop the Glorft before they beat the human race. After being attacked during an attempt at completing this mission, a rushed commander Kiva accidentally sends the Megas back more then a thousand years in the past to New Jersey. Finding the suit in a junk yard, an overweight self-appointed 'gear head' named Coop, soups up the eighty-foot tall robot into his own image of greatness. What he and his best friend Jamie don't know, is that the Glorft want Megas back, and are on their way to the past to get it.

.:Misc.

  • Show creators Jody Schaeffer and George Krstic worked on MTVs Downtown back in 1999.

  • The series spoof a few aspects of pop culture. Most notible is the channel POPtv, which's logo is nearly identical to MTV's using diffrent letters.

  • This series used to be called 'LowBrow' but was changed to 'Megas XLR' because of licensing difficulties.

  • The labeling of buttons is a running throughout the show. Most of the times, you need to freeze frame to catch all of them.

  • Jamie's line "An only for a buck forty-nine!" in the episode 'All I wanted was a Slushie' is a joke regarding Steven Blumb's services on 7-11 commercials, where he says the exact same thing.

  • There are NUMEROUS Anime, Comic, and Sci-fi jokes scattered throughout the series. They range from obvious parodies of G-Force and Sailor Moon, to more subtle nods to Transformer 'Sparks' and Macross references.

  • XLR Stands for Extra Large Robot.

  • The character Goat is from Jody and George's previous series, Downtown. The Voice Actor is also the same in both.
