He-Man and the Masters of the Universe
In the beginning, two leaders battled for Eternia, a fatastical land. One became the good King Randor, the other grew into a hatefilled and bitter monster named Skeletor who plans to take Eternia. In order to fight off Skeletor's forces, The Masters of the Universe assemble, but are unable to do it alone. To protect the kingdom, the mystical elders of Castle Greyskull chose a hero - Randor's lazy, impulsive teenaged son Adam, to transform into the ultimate hero, He-Man.
He-Man joined Cartoon Network's Toonami block on August 16th 2002, about the same time as Transformers Armada. Both shows are revivals of their Original 80's parents and both made they're World Debut on Toonami. Like Transformers: Armada, He-Man is a very toygenic series, with it's own toyline coming out almost simultaniously as the series. It too has been in and out of rotation on Saturday.
Keldor/Skeletor- The villain of the show, not much is really known about him. He was originally Keldor, but when his face dissolved, he changed his name to Skeletor. Blasting down the Mystic Wall, he has begun to attack the Masters and hungers for the power of Eternia.
Duncan/Man-At-Arms- The technical genius of Randor's court, adoptive father to Teela, and general guide to He-Man, he had managed to help keep Skeletor at bay years ago. His "gimmick" is that his arm can transform into a cannon; it is not known if that's part of a suit or an odd natural ability.
Teela- Captain of the Royal Guard, she is the closest thing to a romantic interest to Adam, which is a real stretch. She tires of Adam running away from battles, and does not know that she is constantly aided by him in war.
King Randor- King of Eternia, husband to Marlene, and father to Adam, he was a regular soldier until the elders chose him to lead Eternia in their absence. A competent warrior, he has left the frontlines for a throne.
