Hikaru no Go

Hikaru Shindo was just an ordinary boy, until one rainy day when he decided to rummage through his grandfather’s old “junk” to find something to sell for some quick money. What Hikaru discovers is an old Go board haunted by the spirt of a master Go player from the ancient past, Fujiwara no Sai, who after all these years still seeks to play the perfect game of Go. As the only person who can see Sai, Hikaru finds the ghost has taken up residency in his body, and in order to keep Sai happy, Hikaru takes up Go, a game he previously had no interest in. But Hikaru quickly discovers his own desire to play Go and Sai discovers Hikaru’s natural talent for game.

Created by Yumi Hotta and Takeshi Obata, Hikaru no Go joined Toonami ranks as one of the launch titles for Tooanmi's online broadcast block - Toonami Jetstream. Because Hikaru no Go also airs on ImaginAsian TV, it is the only show of the initial Jetstream lineup to not yet be part of the On-Air Toonami block.
