Clone Wars

After the Battle of Geonosis, the first engagement of the lengthy conflict now known as the Clone wars, the Galaxy is left in turmoil. Lines are being drawn, systems are takings sides, and conflict continues to expand. Unending legions of clone troopers are being led into war by heroic Jedi Knights, locked in an epic engagement with their opponents: the soulless droid army of the Confederacy of Independent Systems - controlled the shadowy Lord Sidious and his apprentence Count Dooku. As Jedi, Anakin and Obi-Wan find themselves as key players and strategests; commanding clone armies to take back fallen planets. As battles are fought for each side, a secret plan is being formulated against our heros, and a dubious new villian will step onto the scene.

Based on the wildly popular Star Wars movies, the Clone Wars micro-series chronicles the events that take place between Episode II: Attack of the Clones, and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. The first 20 chapters, each five minutes in length) made their Toonami debute during a special presentation on December 1st, 2004 (starting at 6PM EST). After five more episodes aired in 2005, Clone Wars would return to Toonami occasionally to showcase all 25 chapters of the series.

.:Misc.

  • Anthony Daniels is the only person from Star Wars to lend their voice to this series..
  • Obi-Wan Kenobi (Chapter 11 and 22) and Padmé Amidala (Chapter 16) utter the infamous lines "I have a bad feeling about this".
  • Chapters 1-20 were each roughly 5 minutes long a piece. For the second season, Cartoon Network traded amount of episodes for length of episodes. This allowed actual stories to develop in each episode - as opposed to establishing such over numerous episodes.
  • Chapter 20 introduced General Grievous to the Star Wars universe. Grievous is one of the villians in Episode III.
  • Chapters 21-25 tell the story leading up to the Crawl at the beginning of Episode III.
  • Chapter 24 contains a Wilhelm Scream.
  • Nelvaan is a nod to Nelvana Studios, the same studio that created two prior animated Star Wars movies, Droids and Ewoks.
