In the 31st Century, and the Earth has fallen into dark and depressing times under the rule of the Marugarita Empire. The Emperor, Tsuru Tsururina the Fourth, has begun a "hair hunt" as a display of his ruthless power, creating fear as Hair Hunters roam the land, shaving the heads of the entire human race until they've all become silky smooth! In this dark age, a single ray of hope shines brightly through the clouds: a man who has dedicated himself to protecting the peace and freedom of hair everywhere by standing up to the dreaded Marugarita Empire. That man is BoBoBo-Bo Bo-BoBo, he of the golden Afro! Now, Bo-BoBo, a master of the infamous Nose Hair Karate techniques, and his sidekicks Beauty and Captain Don Pacci, the land for a fate worse then death; being bald!

BoBoBo-Bo Bo-BoBo (also known as BoBo-bo and Bo^7) debuted on Toonami September 30th, 2006 at 10:30pm (EST). It's placement on the block represents a huge gamble on content; while up to this point most acquisitions for Toonami had been rather serious in nature and linear in plot- BoBoBo's story and style rely heavily on random events and jokes. The gamble has apparently paid off, the series has become a staple of the Toonami block and as of summer of 2006 Cartoon Network has acquired all of the show's available episodes.
