.:Misc.

  • Rebirth Part 1 and Part 2 were aired originally as one 'movie-lengthed' episode. DVDs kept this format, but further broadcasts of the series split them up.

  • Sherman Howard, who was cast as Derek Powers/Blight, originally tried out for the role of Lex Luthor when they were casting for Superman. While he didn't get the part, his audition made him the first choice for the Batman Beyond role when they created the new series.

  • The Terrific Trio are a DC-Spin on Marvel Comics' Fantastic 4.

  • Jodi Benson, infamous for lending her voice to Arial in Disney's Little Mermaid, plays Aquagirl in Batman Beyond.

  • Before moving on to Justice League, the Batman Beyond team considered a proposal to revisit the Beyond universe and have Terry move to Mars; picking up the story there.

  • The episode "Unmasked" was originally scheduled to air on Kids' WB! on Sept. 14, but was pulled after the terrorist attacks on the USA of 11 September 2001. It later premiered on the Cartoon Network.

  • The primary reason behind the series' creation was to sell merchandise.

  • After the series ended, Paul Dini among others, were hired to write a live-action screenplay based on the series. It's reported that the film got as far in development as an early draft. Warner Brothers decided to go with Batman: Year One which later fell through. Christopher Nolan took over and the film which wound up resulting from all of it was Batman Begins.

  • Is known in other countries as "Batman of the Future"

  • At one point, Batman Begins was quite popular in Japan.

  • In the film, Adult Tim Drake is voiced by Dean Stockwell, an actor more commonly known for his role in 'Quantum Leap'.

  • After the Columbine tragedy, WB ordered the film be toned down. Most of the changes were minor, removing impacts during fights and various other edits of the nature. A scene involving Joker and Robin however, was not as lucky. A majority of the scene had to be reanimated because of the nature of it's events and darkness of its presentation. The film was released as a PG direct-to-video feature. A PG-13 Director's cut would later be released and is still available today with all the film's original scenes.
