Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team
Universal Century 0079. In the Jungles of Southeast Asia the One Year War has become especially brutal, as the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon battle for control of the region and its rich resources. Ensign Shiro Amada is sent to the region to take command of the 08th MS Team. With the war reaching its apex Shiro will find his convictions challenged as he’s forced to face the woman he loves, a Zeon test pilot.
Joining Toonami as a Midnight run exclusive, 08th MS Team premiered July 23, 2001 at midnight. On October 01, 2001, this Gundam OVA series was moved to the afternoon Toonami block, airing at 5 pm.

- The final episode, "Last Report" did not air on Toonami. An epilogue to the series, Cartoon Network reportedly did not broadcast it due to content involving children being drafted into military service.
- A compilation movie, "Miller’s Report," based on the series was released, bridging the gap between episodes 8 and 9. Composed of reused and new footage the movie focus on the trial of Shiro Amada, the main character. The movie did not air on Toonami, however segments of it were spliced into the 8th episode for the television broadcast.
- As an OVA, 08th MS Team took a particularly long time to be released in Japan. The first episode was released in 1996 and the final episode, three years later in 1999.
